Would anyone actually be interested if we had some sort of Pokemon tutoring program? Not just for new players but also people just looking to increase their skill level.
Basically you'd fill out a form saying when you're online and what you want to learn as well as any other notes (maybe you want to specifically get better at UU play, for example). You could also tell me any preferences as far as who you get as a tutor but I'm not guaranteeing anything.
After that I'd match everyone up to a personal tutor who should hopefully contact you shortly afterwards .
Obviously we'll need tutors as well XD. Once again, I'd have a form to fill out. You should have shown your skill in some way such as placing well in Aikou tournaments or making it up to the Aikou E4. If you weren't around for the old website then you'll be ineligible for applying to be a tutor (since there haven't been any tournaments here yet and no one has gotten particularly far on the dojo challenge).
Both the tutors and apprentices should have some sort of instant messaging program (it can be Gmail chat for all I care, haha). Teaching people through e-mail doesn't seem very easy (though I guess you guys could try o_0 ).
Tutors need to be active and enjoy helping people. You won't be getting prizes or anything so only participate if you really want to teach people about competetive battling. You will be helping with everything from team-building to EV spreads.
Downloading Shoddy Battle is recommended for everyone in the program for holding mock battles but isn't necessary.
(Yes, I ripped this whole idea from Smogon. Sue me.)
Post here if you'd have any interest in the program, either as a tutor or an apprentice .
Thanks,
Sami
