Pokemon show WTF?

Alright, so I was watching the Pokemon show before going to college yesterday morning, and it suddenly did the most failiest fail of them all, considering that this show should never get pokemon facts wrong.

That damned Pikachu used thundershock or something else definately electric on an Onix, and owned it. How in the hell does that work when Onix is supposed to be immune to electric attacks? It ruined my whole belief system in everything.
