    PSP Games Empty PSP Games

Post by Sasami Mon Oct 04, 2010 9:57 pm

I got a PSP a few weeks ago. So far I have Jeanne D'arc, Wild Arms XF, Dissidia Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy I, and Dynasty Warriors (it was $2 lol).

So...what are your favorite PSP games? There are so many games out there that it's kinda overwhelming and I'm not sure what to get next. My PSP is actually modded to play downloaded games but for some reason I keep buying them anyways because I like owning them XD.

<3 Dissidia. The story is awful, but the gameplay is addictive and the soundtrack is legit.

The Monster Hunter Series and Prinny: Can I really be the hero are the only reasons I own a PSP.

If you're starting off, go with MH:Freedom 2 and or MH:Freedom Unite. Fun times and you can get little kitties following you around that can throw bombs at stuff in Unite. Freedom 2 would be like silver/gold while unite is like Crystal.

The Disgaea ports are nice. Some legitimate new content on them.

Final Fantasy Tactics is a must have, as the best Final Fantasy game. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is another great RPG, as is Valkyria Chronicles 2.

Does the first Disgaea port have anything that the DS one doesn't have? I already own the one on the DS.

Did the port of Final Fantasy Tactics get anything new? That'd be awesome Smile.

Persona 3 was recommended to me already but the $40 price tag is a little painful. I think I need it, though! I'll check out Valkyria Chronicles 2.

I looked into Tactics, it has a co-op mode and some other new things. But I never purchased it due to well... Way too many other games being higher priority =p.

Pretty sure the DS and PSP Disgaea is the same. The main things the PSP version has is ad-hoc mode to play against other people, and an Etna mode.

The Disgaea 2 port has a little more extra features, along with a Dark Hero mode.

Tactics got revamped pretty damn well, the cinematic events were redone to look very similar to the Valkyria Chronicles cel-shaded look, the voice acting is well done, Onion Knight and Dark Knight added, and while you can still recruit Cloud into your party, Balthier was added also. The story is the same, but everything has been streamlined to flow even better than the PSX version.

No one's mentioned Birth by Sleep yet... Or is that just a given?

Top picks from me would be Birth by Sleep, FFTactics, Persona 3, FFVII:Crisis Core, and Breath of Fire III, which is a EUR import, I think. PSP's not regional, though, soooo... You should be fine.

In the marketplace, FFIX and FFVIII are good choices. There's also Silent Hill.

I'm not really a KH fan so yeah XD.

Another vote for Persona 3, I wish it wasn't so pricey. Oh well, my birthday is coming up so maybe it can be a present to myself :p.

Yeah. But if you have a modified PSP you don't need to waste money on games you've already played or owned (BoF3, SH, FFIX and FFVIII).

I got a 3k bundle, so I can't hack it. Marketplace stuff is fairly cheap, too.

Is that the fat or the slim one? If it's the fat one, doesn't matter what era you purchased it, you can mod it. All slim versions can be modified as well, but can't do about half of the stuff fat ones can.

You're just talking about homebrew, right?

Yeah, doesn't matter what generation PSP you have, you just need a Pandora Battery and Magic Stick. You can do them yourself, but you run the chance of bricking your PSP if you make a mistake. May be better to just purchase them online. It'll run about $40-$60, but it's cheap in comparison to how much you'll spend total if you buy them off the market.

I made the stick, purchased the battery for $20. I've been modifying my gaming platforms for years... My PS3 is next in line. My PSP and Wii are doing fantastic so far.
