I fucking hate the move, not only can it last 5-8 turns it almost always DOES. Whatever idiot decided to change it's 2-5 must've been on crack. And of course, nothing can block/stop Encore besides switching.

Re: Encore
Encore really is one of the most centralizing moves in NU so far, and it makes for a really frightening meta game. If they can Encore one of your non-damaging moves, they'll almost certainly get at least one stat boost, and in a metagame like this, it could mean a perfect sweep on the rest of your team.
It's true. All you can do to prevent Encore is switch. The only thing I can think of is something with Whirlwind, and then switch next turn if you know they've got Encore. Cradily can switch in and Stone Edge the Whirlwind user to death, but then you can always just switch to something else, or maybe happen to have something that can OHKO it.
I dunno. Just trying to help...

Re: Encore
I'm like that, but I don't think something like Pokeymanz, which is extremely luck reliant, counts for much.Shine wrote:Or when you're a competitive person by nature and don't enjoy losing.Zero wrote:THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR TREATING POKEYMANZ LIEK SRS BSNS.

Re: Encore
Yeah, I'm also competitive, but you have to pick your battles. People who get uppity over shit like rock, paper, scissors are retarded, and Pokemon isn't too much higher on the scale. When you can spend hours constructing a team that covers each other weaknesses, has an expansive move pool, and counters a myriad of strategies, but still get your ass handed to you by a typical OU team because of luck hax, that means the competitive value is just a bit diminished.
