In this forum, you may battle using Profile Pokemon that you have acquired. Battling is beneficial to "training" your Pokemon, because they can earn experience by winning and will evolve faster.
NOTE: Look in the Rules section to find the battle details for your Pokemon.
Rules:
-The Pokemon you will be battling with should be "set" to your mini-profile. Your set Pokemon is the one that appears next to your posts. To change the set Pokemon, PM an admin. Remember, changing your Pokemon will cause it to lose all prior experience (but it will stay evolved). The reason for this is because almost everything is done by hand, and keeping track of posts and multiple Pokemon would be difficult, if not impossible, for the staff to do.
-All bets on yen and prizes should be made before the match, to avoid disputes.
-You may ask to battle anyone with a Profile Pokemon, but they can deny the challenge.
How to Start the Match:
-If your opponent accepts your challenge, create a thread in this forum that states the battlers (such as "Sagechild vs. Sasami", for example).
-The poster of the thread should be the challenger, and they should state the terms agreed on (amount of yen they will be betting, if it'll be best of 3, Pokemon they will be using, etc.).
-If anyone else wants to bet on who will win the match, they should make a post BEFORE the battle happens, stating who they feel will win, as well as how much yen they bet. The post should never be edited, as editing a post results in an instant loss for the better.
The Battle:
-To battle, each player must create a post with the following information for their own Pokemon:
1. Pokemon being used (should be the one set to the profile).
2. Whether they are using their Pokemon's Regular Attack, or their Special Attack.
3. Any additional information needed for the Special Attack (this is rare).
-After typing the above information, you must click the icon that looks like a die, called "Dice Roll". This icon isn't visible when making a quick post below the thread, you must actually click the "Reply" option to go into the advanced posting mode. There should be only one dice option, called "Attack". Click on it.
-Click "Send" to make your post. NEVER edit it, even if you make a spelling error or something. It will result in a disqualification, because the dice roll will reset if the post is edited.
Deciding the Winner:
-AFTER both players make their first posts with the above info and dice roll, they should each make a second post where they tally up the damage dealt.
-This is the formula used:
If you used a REGULAR ATTACK, simply add your dice roll amount to your Pokemon's regular attack number. The number you end up with is your total damage dealt to the other Pokemon.
If you used a SPECIAL ATTACK, follow the directions that it gave you. Then add your total damage to the number you rolled on the die, unless stated otherwise. You may end up with a negative number if your Special Attack told you to give yourself damage.
-Next, one or both players will make a final post, tallying final damage based on abilities if they came into play. For example, let's say that one player ended up dealing a total of 8 damage, but the other player only dealt 5. The second player might have an ability that states they will take -3 damage from any special attack. If the first player had used a special attack, their new damage total would be 5. But then maybe their own ability says that if the opponent dealt less than 6 damage, they'll deal +1 damage. This would make the final score 6-5, still in the first player's favor.
What Happens Next:
-The winner recieves the amount of yen agreed on. If both players had agreed on a prize of 200 yen, for example, the winner would take 200 yen from the loser.
-The winner's Pokemon recieves 5 experience points, this is equivalent to you posting 5 times. That means they'll be faster to evolve.
-Anyone who had bet yen, will either lose the amount or win it, depending on the outcome.
Betting Rules:
-You may not bet more yen than you have.
-You must bet at least 100 yen but no more than 1000.
-You need to post your bet BEFORE the players have posted their first battle posts.
