New Beginings (Open)

This role play is following on from one I did on the Dark League site ages ago! This is two years after that story.

Brief History: Dawn, 18, is a lover of the water type and is great friends with all Cerulean City sisters. Her parents are divorced and she lives with mum and younger sister called Riva.

She met her partner Sparky, a Pichu, when it was just an egg whilst she was out for a walk with Riva in the woods. Riva spotted the egg hiding in the bushes when she was being pushed on a swing by Dawn. "Eggy!" shouted Riva; Dawn looked dazed at Riva and thought nothing of it, until Riva shouted it again the next day. This time Dawn walked towards where Riva was pointing with her saliva-covered fingers! She carefully worked her way through the branches, trying not to cut herself and give her a good view of the "eggy". It was beautiful. A pale yellow shell with red markings on it. She held it in her hands and then suddenly put it back. "It's not mine." She thought to herself and took Riva home.
Later that night there was a terrible storm, "I hope that egg is ok" she thought as she got into bed. Just as she did a huge bolt on lightening came crashing from the skies and thats when Dawn sprang from her bed put on her coat and shoes and ran to the park. She hurried as fast as she could to the spot where she saw the egg last, but it had vanished. She looked worriedly all around her when she saw out the corner of her eye a Mankey with the egg in it's hands battling another pokemon, one she had not seen before a yellow mouse-like pokemon. The mankey was winning.... Dawn realised that the mankey must be stealing the egg as the yellow of the egg matched the colour of the mouse-like pokemon,
"Hey you; Mankey, put that egg down right now!" The mankey turned quickly and looked Dawn straight in the eye and ran for her. "Owwwww!!!!" yelled Dawn as she took a low kick stright in the midrift. The yellow pokemon realised Dawn was trying to help and ran to her side and released an electric shock to the mankey as it was about to use a karate chop attack. The mankey fell back and the egg slipped from its clutches and fell towards the ground. Dawn jumped up and dived in the direction the egg was falling to and just managed to grab a hold of it before it hit the floor. "phew!" she muttered to herself; suddenly, the egg started to glow...
"WOW! ITS HATCHING!!!" The yellow pokemon ran beside Dawn and watched as a tiny little yellow pokemon appeared in Dawns hands.
"Owww it's so cute!" She said, smiling.
"Pika" cried the mother. Dawn put the little pokemon down infront of the mother but just as she started to walk away and leave the mother and baby together, the mum said,
"Pikachu, pika pi" Dawn turned puzzled.
"What....? Y..y...you want me to take it?"
"Pika" The mother nodded.
"I guess it could be unsafe if it stayed here in the forest, with pokemon like that mankey around." Dawn proclaimed. "Are you sure?"
The mother nodded again and smiled, as if to say I'm sure and thankyou.
"Ok, you might not be a water pokemon but you sure are cute! I will don't you worry I'll take good care of it and as I don't know your name and you hatched in a thunderstorm, I'll call you Sparky!"
"Pi!" Smiled the newly hatched pokemon.

Dawn and her Pichu, who is now a Pikachu, travelled all over the Aikou region, catching new Pokemon and participating in Gym battles. She managed to win all 8 badges, but failed to qualify for the Pokemon League. Since then she has turned her attention towards Pokemon Contests and almost made it to the Grand Festival last year, narrowly missing out on her 5th contest ribbon.

Here and now: Since then, Dawn has learnt a lot more about Pokemon; the battling, evolution, types, etc. This was mainly due to her friend Brennan, whom, she met not long after starting her first journey, but then the two parted ways to focus on their own dreams.

Dawn is currently on a cruise ship destined for Pallet Town and will be arriving soon, to begin her next adventure...

A star filled sky laid silently overhead of the impressive cruise liner, its stars in the blank darkness glittering mysteriously. No moon was there to give light to the darkened night, nothing but a small window of one of the cabins giving off a faint glow.

"I can't wait!" Said a brunette haired girl in oversized pyjamas, who had been twisting and turning on her bed for the past hour, unable to sleep. She now sat at the edge of the bed, with her eyes glued to the small television set.

A show had just started, one with info on tomorrow’s festivities in Pallet Town. An old man with greyish hair and a lab coat began to introduce the program. Listening intently, Dawn, suddenly recognised the man,

"Professor Oak!" She shouted, met with the groans of 'be quiet' and 'shut up' from the occupants of the cabins next to her. "Sorry," she whispered, as she turned her attention back to the well know poet and scientist. She continued to watch the programme, (with the volume rather loud!) trying to get the heads up on the events taking place, there was going to be a big party in the town, to see off some new trainers and the people on the ship were all invited to attend if they wished.

Her concentration broke by the sound of footsteps outside her door. Quickly, Dawn shut off the tv and attempted to crawl back under her bed sheets, like a little child being caught still awake past their bedtime, when a tall young man, with just as baggie pyjamas, swung open the door. He looked angry!

History Brennan is a Pokemon trainer who loves to compete and also breeds pokemon to get the best he can out of them.


Snice Brennan's last meeting with Dawn he has been Training and Breeding some Pokemon to obtain the best Chimchar he could, with this Chimchar he contiued on his journey around Akiou Region and won 8 badges, he qauflied for the Pokemon League however only got past the first round.

He is now on a boat heading towards Pallet town to start a new Journey and win new badges and hopefully beat the pokemon Leaugue, while on this boat and fishing with only his Chimchar Brennan fished up and caught a Squirtle, who along with Chimchar are the first two of a new Team to take on this new Advernture.


On the Boat while resting himself and his pokemon for the night he hears someone shouting at the TV and after asking them through the walls to be quiet and when they do not he takes his pokemon to find out who is making all the noise.

Once he had found the door he swung it open, once inside he saw a Girl running towards the bed in overly large pjamas.

He ngrliy shouted "Why are you making so Much Noise?!"
The girl was too scared to even reply to him.
"If you don't quiten down we will have to battle"

Unable to lie in the bed in time, Dawn had to just accept she'd been caught out,

"I'm so sorry sir," she said quietly, to the tall silhouette standing at her door, "It won't happen again." With that the man returned to his room, Dawn set her alarm clock for breakfast and eventually fell asleep.

The next morning Dawn awoke with the blaring noise of her 8 AM alarm. Drowsily, she slapped the snooze button with her hand. The alarm went off again ten minutes later she hit the snooze again. It rang a third time; this time she realised what time it was. In panic, she sprung from his bed and started to dress.

"Breakfast finishes at 8.30," Dawn said to herself as she raced down the ships corridors, weaving in and out, dodging the other passengers, who had already filled themselves full of breakfast.


Dawn finally reached the breakfast bar, with only a minute to spare,

"Can... whew... Can I get a poached egg and toast please?" She said to the waiter, out of breath. The waiter wrote the order down and walked away- he didn't look to impressed with Dawn, he thought he'd finished for the morning! Just as Dawn was starting to get her breath back she spotted a familiar face...

After the girl had gone to bed completey ingoring him, Brennan went back to his own room and tried to get some sleep till he had to wake up to train and for Breakfast.

When it finally reached morning Brennan woke up and so did his pokemon while he got dressed his pokemon started to run round the room till he got their food out for them, while they ate Brennan got ready for his day.

Once his pokemon had eaten they decied to head down for breakfast which Brennan only just realised finished in 20minutes so he ran there without thinking to put his pokemon in their pokeballs, once he got the mess hall he called his pokemon back into their pokeballs then he started to pick what to have for Breakfast, he choose the Bacon sandwhich. Once he had got his food and started to eat a familair face caught the corner of his eye...

'Is it... It can't be,' Dawn thought to herself, who kept glimpsing around the menu, using it as a cover; she moved the menu slowly to the right so only her left eye was exposed,

"Brennan!?" She said loudly; the people that were still in the dinning hall all turned and locked their eyes on Dawn, who blushed, "Sorry," she said apologetically as she stood and started to walk over to her old friend who was laughing quietly at Dawn's expense.

"Stop it!" Dawn snapped, jokingly at Brennan, and then she sat. The two Pokemon trainers, who hadn't seen each other for almost 2 years had much to talk about, so they did. They spoke about their journeys, the Pokemon they'd seen and caught along the way and everything else.

Dawn finished her breakfast and then began to tell Brennan about what happened last night...

Brennan keeps seeing the girl looking at him from the corner of a menu but he wasn't sure until she shouted out his name, while quielty laughing and remebering who she was, as he remebered she had walked over to him and told him to stop laughing.

Brennan invited her to sit down with him so they could catch up after not seeing each other for two years as they were telling each other of their jouerneys and finishing breakfast.

Dawn then started to tell him about her strange encounter last night and when she had finished Brennan said "that was you!?, wow sorry didn't relaise"


Brennan then says "So about that battle, you wanna go ahead with it or not?"

Dawn, still in shock about seeing Brennan and the revelation that it was infact him that scared her last night, was then put in more shock at the prospect of a battle with her old friend! But before she had a chance to decline, Brennan was already half way out the door. Dawn sighed, 'what a morning!'

The two friends went out on to the ships deck, where there were only a few people sunbathing in deck chairs, as most people were packing their luggage to depart the ship in an hour.

"Okay, Brennan, how are we doing this?" Dawn asked, "How about a 2 on 2? Mainly because I only have two Pokemon with me!" She giggled.

Crouched low back in the cargo of the cruse liner, Jade's back began to ache. The ship rocked and a box fell on here head. 'Ow damn! This is not the place for the daughter of a multimillionaire!' She thought with disscust. She pushed the box over and stood up. She had red hair that ran just passed her shoulders, blue eyes, a pink t-shirt that showed a little of her belly button and a pair of light blue jeans and sandals. Around her waist was a trainer belt with a single pokeball. In that ball was her charizard named Star. Jade has had Star since she was just a little charmander egg.

'I'm getting out of this cargo hold! Why on earth they threw me in hear instead of getting me a ticket is beyond me! But I will complain! Daddy Will hear about this if its the last-' Her thoughts were cut off as 2 sailors walked close by.
"Wait! Wait! Please help me!"
The sailors turned and looked a bit puzzled. "I'm sorry miss but only authorized person-"
"I'm sorry I was going to buy a ticket I have plenty of money but these goons blindfolded me! I'm a millionaire I don't need to stow away like some rat!" She began saying franticly. The two men looked at each other in shock.

"My goodness are you all right!?" On of them said. He walked up to her and escorted her out of the cargo hall. "I will bring this to the attention of the captain immediately! We will catch the purpatrators. Did they take tany of your belongings?"
"No they just threw me in the cargo hold!"
"This is very disturbing. We will get right on it. In the mean time this is Georgia she will show you to a room so you can be more comfortable."
