Anyway, the visual novel is better. Take note that if you click that link, this thread will suddenly shoot to mature audience only.
But despite that, it's an alright adaptation. Personally I feel out of the three primary endings the visual novel had, Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel, the anime chose the worst of the three, Fate. The people who have not read it first have liked it, with mixed feelings towards the ending.
